Paula Carnell - Artist Biography

Born in Weymouth, Dorset, England in November 1968, Paula has worked as a professional artist since leaving art school in 1989.

Paula first started painting on silk in 1987 and very soon began demonstrating for various silk paint suppliers, including Javana, Pebeo and Marabu paints. She also demonstrated regularly for Raphael Brushes.

In April 1990, Paula started "Possi," a company promoting and distributing reproductions of her silk paintings as prints and greeting cards. Her work was sold worldwide including the United States, Japan and most of Europe. She illustrated Coleridges "Rime of the Ancient Mariner." These paintings were exhibited in London's Trafalgar Square in 1991 and published in a hard backed book in 1992.

In 1995 Paula converted a large redundant rope factory in Somerset Town Castle Cary to an art gallery. This gallery exhibited originals by Paul Karslake. After 9 successful years, Paula sold the gallery to concentrate on her own work and now paints and exibits her paintings worldwide.

Paula lives with her two sons, Finnian and Caspar in Castle Cary, Somerset, England.
